In the old Bond movies, James Bond's greatest antagonist was the evil genius Ernst Stavro Blofeld, the leader of SPECTOR. In the present day, it sometimes seems that the evil genius doing his best to confound Conservative Republicans is Senator Arlen Specter...chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Well, Senator SPECTOR has done it again. He has delayed hearings on Judge Alito's nomination to the Supreme Court of the United States until late January. Thank you, SPECTOR, you ingrate! We should have deprived him of his chairmanship long ago. If he wanted to change parties...fine. Goodbye and good riddance. SPECTOR is another politician whom I hope to outlive so that I can pay my disrespects at his gravesite.
